Gabriel’s research about Samuel Yellin and early 20th century ironwork in Detroit was featured in an article published by the Artist Blacksmith’s Association of North America (ABANA) entitled Searching for Samuel Yellin.

Smith Shop was featured in the summer 2023 issue American Craft Magazine which featured an article about the Craft scene in Detroit. Several Smith Shop works were shown along with quotes from Gabriel about Detroit and its history and culture.

Gabriel has been named by his alma mater, Virginia Commonwealth University, as one of the university’s top 10 graduates of the last decade.
