Weekend Knife Making Workshop- Full Tang Knife

This two day weekend intensive will introduce students to knife making by focusing on various forging techniques including tapering, shouldering, fullering and more. We will also cover non-forging techniques such as cutting, grinding, drilling and finishing. Students will complete one medium sized hunting knife during the course. The curriculum is limited to 4 students.

Schedule:

Saturday, March 30th & Sunday, March 31st.

10am - 4pm. 2 days, 6 hours with a break for lunch.

Instructor Biography: 

Eric Hemker is a local bladesmith/blacksmith who works out of his home shop in Harper Woods. Eric graduated from Ferris State University with a degree in Product Design Engineering Technology and works full time as a design engineer. He started bladesmithing and blacksmithing as a hobby 2 and a half years ago. Eric has taken classes at Smith Shop and attended multiple bladesmithing events around the country. His work can be seen on Instagram @hemker_blacksmithing.
