Weekend Knife Making Workshop- Chef's Knife

This two day weekend intensive will introduce students to knife making by focusing on various forging techniques including tapering, shouldering, fullering and more. We will also cover non-forging techniques such as cutting, grinding, drilling and finishing. Students will complete one medium sized chef knife during the course. The curriculum is limited to 4 students.

Schedule:

Saturday, April 13th & Sunday, April 14th.

9am - 6pm. 2 days, 7 hours with a break for lunch.

Instructor Biography: 

Niko Nicolaides is a local Bladesmith working out of his shop in Southfield MI. Before diving into knifemaking he studied manufacturing engineering at Schoolcraft college. While working in restaurants to pay for college, he started knifemaking as a hobby. Over the next three year this transitioned into his full time job. Niko specializes in kitchen knives, making custom knives that end up in the hands of chefs and retailers around the United States, as well as overseas.
